The Engineering News Record Energy Construction Project of the Year Award, which Platts is proud to present in collaboration with its sister company the McGraw-Hill Construction, is about excellence in project execution and management. Eligible companies will be those that undertake a construction project in any part of the energy arena, including electricity generation, pipelines, LNG, refining, offshore oil, or renewable energy. The winner will be a project which shows true innovation in its approach to engineering problems, and all-round excellence in implementation. Judges will look for a project with outstanding design qualities and construction methods, sound financing; and time- and money-saving approaches to project delivery.
Judges will consider projects completed between January 2008 and August 2009. For a project whose process technology is in a pre-commercial development stage - such as a pilot or demonstration - mechanical completion will suffice. For a project whose process technology is mature, substantial completion is required.
