This award recognizes excellence in the upstream energy industries. To win, a company must demonstrate that its activities in exploration and production set world class standards in one or all of a range of activities: exploration for and finding new resources, maximizing technical excellence and innovation in resource extraction, and bringing complex or difficult projects to schedule and on budget. The winner will have delivered consistent and growing returns to its shareholders or owners, and also have raised the bar in establishing environmental efficiencies.
Entries from specialist exploration companies, coal mining companies, coal-bed methane extractors, drilling companies, production facility operators, integrated upstream oil and gas companies, and E&P divisions of larger companies will be considered.
They will look for the exceptional both in overall management and project implementation and planning.
Judges will consider performance and achievements since January 2008.
