No company may be nominated for more than one award on substantially the same basis. Judges will discard entries for multiple awards which broadly replicate other entries. (Thus, as an example, companies should not nominate themselves simultaneously for Commercial Technology of the Year and for the Green Energy Generator of the Year using the success of a single technological innovation as justification for both).
Judges reserve the right to move an entry to a different category from the category entered if, in the judges’ opinion, the entry is better suited to that category.
In the event that fewer than five entries are qualified as finalists in a particular category, the judges reserve the right not to make the award. The judges reserve this right in the case of awards to individuals regardless of the number of entries.
The winners of individual awards (CEO of the Year, Rising Star Award - Individual and Lifetime Achievement Award) are required to attend the Global Energy Awards Dinner to accept their award in person.
All nominations must be submitted using the Online Nominating Process. Nominations and supporting materials must be received no later than September 10, 2012. No extensions to this date will be granted and incomplete entries will not be considered.
Nominations may be submitted either directly from a company, from an involved individual, or from a third party. In the event that a third party nominates a company or individual, Platts will contact the nominated company or individual and ask the nominee to review the nomination for accuracy and, if necessary, provide any missing documentation. If the company or individual fails to provide the required response by the specified date, the nomination will be excluded from competition.
Each nomination MUST be accompanied by a summary, not to exceed 300 words (2-3 paragraphs), that explains the rationale behind the entry. We strongly encourage you to tailor each summary to the individual category for which you are nominating. All dollar amounts and financial statistics MUST be in U.S. dollars. The Nominating Summary should be submitted electronically through the Online Nominating Process.
Nominations for the Vision & Leadership and the Operational Excellence sections MUST include a company profile that includes total revenue and profit for the award period described in the overview of each category and size of company. All dollar amounts and financial statistics MUST be in U.S. dollars to be considered. The Company Profile should be submitted electronically through the Online Nominating Process. Nominations for the Outstanding Programs, Premier Projects and Leading Technologies sections MUST include financial details for their submissions in U.S. dollars.
Nominations MUST also include additional insight into the nominee's qualifications as it relates to the judging criteria. You will be asked to elaborate on your nomination by providing examples of outstanding accomplishments, the risks involved, significant obstacles that were overcome and any other pertinent information for each of the judging criterion specified in the category descriptions. All dollar amounts and financial statistics MUST be in U.S. dollars. The Nominating Report should be submitted electronically through the Online Nominating Process.
